In the past twenty-four years Anúna, Ireland's National Choir, has become one of this country's best-known performing groups. Their unique stage presentation and choral sound have placed them amongst the premier vocal ensembles in the world. This year the choir will host the first Anúna Choral Summer School. This will take place in the historic and prestigious National Concert Hall, located in the heart of Dublin. The course is ideally suited to solo vocalists, choral singers and choral directors.
Sessions and events will include :
- Basic and advanced vocal and choral techniques
- Extensive work on the purely physical aspects of performance
- Practical application of techniques in performance
- Seminars and discussions
- A visit to Glendalough (pictured above)
- A public performance by Anúna that will involve student participation
- First performance of a specially-commissioned new choral work by Michael McGlynn, suitable for all voice combinations.
Anúna will be in residence throughout the week, and will be joined by a panel of expert international facilitors including :
