Abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098 to 1179) was an author and poet. She wrote some of the most beautiful vocal music of the Middle Ages. Ave Generosa is a short extract from one of these chants. Michael's O Viridissima is an original setting of her text of the same name. The harp and violin parts are optional, and this work should be presented as a movement piece.
